YY co-founded Pattern Insight in 2006. She is a professor in Computer Science at University of California, San Diego. Before this, Dr. Zhou was associate CS professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she has led many years of pioneering research in system data mining, system reliability, and system management.

She co-founded Emphora Inc. on storage systems, was a scientist at NEC Research Lab, and Director of Engineering at StorageNetworks. She has received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, Alfred Sloan Fellowship Award, IBM Faculty Award, Computer Research Association Anita Borg Career Award, Department of Energy Early Career Award and the UIUC Gear Faculty Award. YY has published more than 70 research papers and holds several patents. She obtained her PhD and M.S. in computer science from Princeton University.

Spiros is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Pattern Insight. He is responsible for all functions at Pattern Insight, including engineering, sales and marketing. Before being named CEO, Spiros served as Pattern Insight's VP of Engineering and COO.  Prior to that, Spiros conducted research in systems mining and reliability as a member of the Opera research group at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign that created the core technology behind Pattern Insight. He has published several research papers on systems and software engineering. Spiros previously worked at Google and has extensive Big Data experience in information mining from systems data, search engines, and large-scale software systems development. Spiros holds an M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois.

Dr. Li co-founded Data Domain Inc. in 2001, ultimately serving as Chief Executive Officer. Currently, he is Professor of Computer Science at Princeton University, where he has led research projects involving operating systems, computer architecture, distributed and scalable display systems.

Kai is an expert in building parallel and distributed systems, de-duplication storage systems, and data analysis and search for massive datasets. He serves on the Technical Advisory Board of Inphi Corporation since March 29, 2011 and is on the board of Intel’s Microcomputer Research Lab Advisory Council. Dr. Li served as a Director of Data Domain Inc., from 2001 to July 2009. He holds numerous computer science degrees including a B.S. from Jilin University, an M.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University.

Scott is a Managing Director at Venture Investors and focuses on investments in engineering, physical sciences, energy technology and medical devices. He serves on the Board of Directors of Pattern Insight, Silatronix, and NeuWave Medical. He is a Board observer for AlfaLight, Softswitching Technologies and Virent Energy Systems.

Scott serves on the Advisory Board of the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation Translational Research Partnership at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a frequent lecturer for the University of Wisconsin Business and Engineering Schools.  He is on the Debt Advisory Committee for the Madison Development Corporation, serves as a MERLIN Mentor and is a member of the University of Wisconsin’s Student Seed Grant Advisory Board.

Prior to joining Venture Investors, Scott worked for McDonald’s Corporation as an operations manager and for Rockwell Automation as a field sales engineer in the automotive industry. He is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (BS–Mechanical Engineering), The University of Chicago (MBA) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
