Spiros is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Pattern Insight. He is responsible for all functions at Pattern Insight, including engineering, sales and marketing. Before being named CEO, Spiros served as Pattern Insight's VP of Engineering and COO.  Prior to that, Spiros conducted research in systems mining and reliability as a member of the Opera research group at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign that created the core technology behind Pattern Insight. He has published several research papers on systems and software engineering. Spiros previously worked at Google and has extensive Big Data experience in information mining from systems data, search engines, and large-scale software systems development. Spiros holds an M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois.

YY co-founded Pattern Insight in 2006. She is a professor in Computer Science at University of California, San Diego. Before this, Dr. Zhou was associate CS professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she has led many years of pioneering research in system data mining, system reliability, and system management. She co-founded Emphora Inc. on storage systems, was a scientist at NEC Research Lab, and Director of Engineering at StorageNetworks. She has received the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, Alfred Sloan Fellowship Award, IBM Faculty Award, Computer Research Association Anita Borg Career Award, Department of Energy Early Career Award and the UIUC Gear Faculty Award. YY has published more than 70 research papers and holds several patents. She obtained her Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science from Princeton University.

Bo Q. Zhu is responsible for all products at Pattern Insight, from strategic planning to execution, through the product lifecycle. His passion lies in the intersection of innovative technology and business demands. He previously worked at IBM’s Almaden Research Center and China’s National Laboratory of New Software Technology.

Bo obtained his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and M.S. and B.S. in computer science from Nanjing University, China. Bo has published pioneering research papers on systems and holds several patents.

Russ is responsible for all facets of marketing at Pattern Insight. He began his career in the communications agency business, working both as a writer and business executive for a number of firms in the Omnicom and Interpublic Group holding companies. He moved to the client marketing side, serving in executive management roles at Bank of America Interactive, Siebel Systems and Coverity. Most recently, Russ ran marketing activities for CouchOne (now Couchbase) and is a frequent lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, on technology marketing. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from Marquette University.

Chengdu joined Pattern Insight in 2008 and has been leading the development of the major products ever since. Previously, he worked at Google on the cloud computing system infrastructure, and in HP Labs on machine-learning based autonomic computing algorithms. His interests include building large-scale distributed systems and automated system management and problem diagnosis. He has published over 20 research papers and holds several patents. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his M.S. from University of Virginia, both in Computer Science.

John served as CEO and continues to advise Pattern Insight's founders, leveraging his 25+ years of experience as an executive in the software development and deployment markets. Prior, John was a senior officer at Rational Software from 1990 to 2003, serving as Senior VP Worldwide Field Operations, VP Americas Field Operation, and VP Worldwide Services and Support. He helped grow sales to over $700 million annually, building a field organization of over 1800 sales and technical professionals and played a key role in shaping Rational's approach to achieving customer results through improved software development process. Before joining Rational, John was with Hewlett Packard and McDonnell Douglas.

John holds an M.S. in computer science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology at Rolla, and a B.S. in aeronautical engineering from Wichita State University and remains active on the advisory boards of both institutions. He is past president of the MS&T Academy of Computer Science and serves on several corporate boards.
