Pattern Insight Continues Momentum With New Customers CSR, Adtran and Motorola Mobility

07.18.2011

Pattern Insight, a company dedicated to improving software quality and security, continued to demonstrate significant sales momentum with the addition of CSR, Adtran and Motorola Mobility to its customer roster.  Each company selected Pattern Insight because of its ability to ensure all future software releases will be free of bugs previously addressed in the build process.

CSR is a leading provider of solutions for the digital entertainment and imaging markets that allow consumers to connect and share their still photos, home movies and other entertainment with their families and friends on their digital televisions.

ADTRAN, Inc. is a leading global provider of networking and communications equipment solutions enabling voice, data, video and Internet communications across copper, fiber and wireless network infrastructures.

Motorola Mobility, Inc. is a leading maker of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets; wireless accessories; end-to-end video and data delivery; and management solutions, including set-tops and data-access devices.

Pattern Insight analyzes and searches source code to eliminate defects from software releases. It takes as input any bug fix and automatically finds all the other instances that have been propagated throughout the code base in variants, branches and pieces of replicated code.

Its flagship product Code Assurance is a faster, easier and more accurate method to stop releasing known bugs. Features include:

  • Full integration with major SCM systems
  • Web-based admin console
  • One-click installation and upgrade
  • Improved process management

“We are excited to announce these new customers which are the leaders in the mobile, networking and digital entertainment industries,” said Spiros Xanthos, Pattern Insight COO.  “They have put their faith in our technology to make sure they only release software of the highest quality and security to their customers.”

Previously fixed bugs are a significant and rapidly growing problem for software development organizations as they tend to escape rigorous quality assurance processes; are missed by traditional static analysis tools; and most importantly, are especially difficult for customers to accept when discovered.

Developed at the University of Illinois, Pattern Insight’s advanced pattern search and discovery technology was tailored specifically to analyze source code, versus more common unstructured web data. It features:

  • Ultra-fast performance, with search returns on BLOC in near-real time
  • Extremely high accuracy - within 99% confidence levels
  • Automatic bug pattern extraction, analysis, and search
  • Fuzzy pattern matching capability that tolerates changes in variable names, function names, and statement insertions and deletions
  • Code snippet search without complicated regex expressions
  • Advanced proximity searches as well as all of the standard keyword-based routines

Customers, including Motorola, Cisco, and Qualcomm, utilize Pattern Insight’s proprietary products to ensure their software is of the highest quality and security attainable.
